The Hawks, Saracens & Vandals all at the Woodlands on Saturday

With the 1st XV away at Hull Ionians, the local spotlight turns on Fylde Hawks, Saracens and Vandals – all of them are at the Woodlands.

Fylde Hawks welcome old friends and rivals Sedgley Park 2nds to the man pitch (ko 14.15) in Premier Conference ‘A’. The Hawks lost their opening game at Caldy last Saturday so will be very keen to open their account against ‘the Mighty 2s’.

They have named a strong squad:

15 Henry Pearson; 14 Matt Worsnip, 13 Luke Fowden, 12 Tom Forster, 11 Sam Fisher; 10 David William Reed (c), 9 Adam Lanigan; 1 Matthew Ashcroft, 2 Jonathan James Wild, 3 Tom Fox, 4 Mark Capstick, 5 Karl Capstick, 6 Tom Steer, 7 Luke Clitheroe, 8 James Torkington.

16 Richard Appleyard, 17 Seb Smith, 18 Craig Whalley-Hunter.

The Saracens entertain Kirkby Lonsdale 2nds on the top pitch (ko 14.15) in a Division One fixture. The Sarries are in 7th place in the table, their opponents in 5th spot.

The Vandals have a particularly difficult task when they take on Thornton Cleveleys 2nds on the training pitch (ko 14.15). The Vandals are in 7th place whilst their visitors are in 3rd and are having a very good campaign.
