Warren’s programme notes for Hinckley game

I would like to extend a warm Woodlands welcome to today’s opponents, Hinckley. We lost a close game earlier in the season and are fully aware of their strengths all across the pitch. I thought the atmosphere in their clubhouse after the game was best I’ve seen at an away club so far this season and I hope they get the same impression of Fylde this afternoon. Although they haven’t had the best run of form in December and January, this is definitely one of the strongest teams in the league. We will need a huge physical effort and a clinical tactical performance to get the win today.

I am really proud of how the lads have responded to our loss at Sheffield Tigers. The overall team performance against Tynedale was excellent and we had to keep mentally focused at Peterborough to get a win on another miserable weather afternoon. Hopefully we’ll get some sunny conditions and fast tracks to play on during the back end of the season and we can test ourselves at playing our preferred style!

I have really enjoyed seeing more engagement with our M&Js on matchdays during the past few games. It’s a great sight when the players are welcomed onto the pitch by our own youngsters and hopefully this is having a positive impact all round. I think it’s very important that our 1st XV team players role model the values of Rugby that we should all be proud of and hopefully they are inspiring some of our youngsters to become top players and people in the future. Likewise, it’s a great reminder to our players that we all started out as kids who loved the game and they are now in a position where they are the role models for the next generation. Thank you to all the parents, coaches and unsung heroes who are helping this happen!

Enjoy the rugby!
