Fylde signs Armed Forces Covenant

At Fylde’s recent Remembrance Sunday event, Chairman Dave Young signed the Armed Forces Covenant which was witnessed by Group Captain Niall Griffiths (Director of RAF RU Academy) and Ed Nash, the Veterans Councillor for Fylde Borough Council.

This signing recognises that Fylde RFC will endeavour in its business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:

  • no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen
  • in some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved.

Fylde RFC recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our club and Fylde RFC will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant and make the following commitments:

  • promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation;
    *offering support to our local cadet units, either in our local community or in local schools,
  • offering discounts to members of the Armed Forces Community through free entrance to Fylde 1xt XV home matches on production of a valid Service ID card
