Important – Please Read

14 March 2020

The Government has announced that we are moving out of the ‘contain’ phase and into ‘delay’ in response to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The UK Chief Medical Officers have now raised the risk to the UK from moderate to high.

The Government announced on Thursday that there is no change in advice regarding sporting events at the moment, that is they can continue. The RFU are advising all clubs to follow the Government’s advice. Given this, Fylde RFC games planned for this weekend will played as usual unless there is formal advice to the contrary.

However, please all note the Government and Public Health England advice:

IF you, or your children have either:

  • a high temperature (37.8 degrees and abovE)
  • a new, continuous cough – (started coughing repeatedly)

PLEASE Stay at home and self-isolate for 7 days

There are general principles anyone can follow to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Washing your hands often – with soap and water
  • Use alcohol sanitiser if handwashing facilities are not available.
  • Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.

For further information visit:

For the wellbeing of everyone at the Club, please follow the Government’s advice closely and if you are unwell or have any of the symptoms highlighted in the Government’s guidance please refrain from attending the Woodlands.

Thank you for your cooperation.
