Vandals v neighbours TC

Fylde Vandals 12 Thornton/Cleveleys 2nds 34

Games between the Vandals and T/C are always competitive affairs and Saturday’s was no different. Both teams played some good attacking rugby but they also needed to defend strongly too. With ten or fifteen minutes to go the score was 17-12 to T/C with the Vandals massively in the contest. Adam Todd had scored both Vandals tries and continues to impress with each outing. Sean Whiteside added one of the two pointers. T/C ultimately had enough fire power to grab two or three late touchdowns taking the game 34-12.

Unfortunately Richard Todd took a bad knock to his neck area just before halftime and on the advice of club physio Ethan Bird an ambulance was summoned. It arrived very quickly and Richard was loaded up and whisked off to hospital. We later found out that Richard was ok and was back home safe and sound although he was feeling very sore. We wish him all the best and hope he has a speedy recovery.

Thanks to T/C for the game and all the best for the rest of the season. We appreciate all the support from the side line and a final thanks goes to physio Ethan Bird for initially looking after Toddy.

No game for us this coming weekend so it’s everyone down the club for the Wales/England game. The following Saturday is another home fixture for us when we welcome league leaders Vale of Lune to the Woodlands. There’s no easy fixtures in this league!
