Hawks & Sarries on the road, Vandals at the Woodlands

Fylde Hawks open their Premier Conference ‘A’ league fixtures with a tricky contest at Caldy 2nds. Their hosts finished the first part of the Premier League campaign by topping the table, narrowly, with Chester just behind them. The Hawks will look to repeat their last performance at Paton Field in October when they edged a 15-19 victory. Caldy got their revenge with a decisive 23-41 win at the Woodlands in December.

The Hawks squad is:

15 Tom Forster; 14 Matt Worsnip, 13 James Bailey, 12 Luke Fowden, 11 Joe Probert; 10 David Reed, 9 Adam Lanigan; 1 Matt Ashcroft, 2 Craig Whalley-Hunter, 3 Tom Fox, 4 Karl Capstick, 5 Will Atkinson, 6 Tom Steer, 7 Luke Clitheroe, 8 Jamie Griffin.

16 Dan Jones, 17 Seb Smith, 18 Mark Capstick.

The Saracens are also on the road when they travel to Liverpool University Vets in Sale Sharks Division One. The Sarries could do with a victory as they’re in 7th place and their hosts in 10th, but just four points behind them.

Fylde Vandals welcome Blackburn 3rds to the Woodlands (ko 14.15) and they too need a victory to keep themselves clear of relegation danger. The Vandals are in 7th place, one behind Blackburn, in another very close division.
