Warren’s programme notes for Stourbridge match

I would like to welcome today’s opponents Stourbridge to the Woodlands for what may prove to be a pivotal game for both teams. Our opponents come on a good run of form after beating Hull Ionians and being unlucky only to finish with a draw against Chester in their recent matches. We know from our away fixture that today’s match will be a real physical test against the biggest side in the league, but they are also capable of moving the ball well so we must be ready for everything they throw at us if we are going to come out on top.

As I said after the Hull Ionians defeat, we had no excuses. We weren’t good enough on the day and have had a good two weeks to look at what we need to get right in this final run in. The lads have been excellent and shown a lot of maturity with how we have reviewed and planned for the upcoming games. We’re not exactly where we would want to be in the league, but last weeks catch up matches were relatively kind to us so we’re still in the mix if we manage to produce top performances week in week out. That is now our big challenge.

Off the field we have been working diligently to make sure that we have the best squad possible to take us into next season and beyond. I love being able to work with players who enjoy being at this club and it makes contract talks much easier when I can trust that we are providing a great environment for them to improve and perform in. I know Allan Foster is looking forward to getting some positive player news out on our social media channels and a lot of that will be coming in the next few weeks!

Enjoy the game!
