Warren Spragg’s match programme notes ahead of today’s game at the Woodlands.

“I would like to welcome our guests from Hull Ionians back to the Woodlands today, the only team we will face this season who we also played last year in National 1. Despite losing a number of quality players over the summer, they have enjoyed a strong start to this campaign and will give us a real test this afternoon.

“Consistency is probably the obvious message that we could be giving to our players at this stage in the season, considering our mixed results up to this stage. However, I want the players to be consistently brilliant so our message has been more around inspiration and what it takes for a team to develop the qualities seen regularly by the All Blacks, namely the self-belief to turn games around and win from any scenario. So we have been working on developing the skill sets we believe are necessary to take our game to the next level, and I hope this begins to show in our performances against the top teams in the league.

Enjoy the rugby!”
