The following season he was a regular starter at inside centre in the Grove Road’s club charge through the division to promotion to National One (level 2). His appearances earned him two England Counties tours, 2007 to Russia & 2008 to USA/Canada. He stayed for Manchester’s 2008/9 campaign before joining his brother at Caldy in 2009.
Scott returned to Longton in the role of player-coach before moving to the Woodlands for the 2014/15 season. In his two and a bit seasons with Fylde he made 65 1st XV appearances and scored 22 tries. Warren Spragg said: “Scott was a very influential player in his first stint at the club. He had an impressive strike rate of tries and was a regular ‘man of the match’. He gives us a different attacking option which I think we need to be able to put more pressure on the opposition. I’m sure everyone at the Woodlands will give him a warm welcome back.
“We just need to find a sponsor with a helicopter to get him to and from training so he can avoid the M6 now, but I’m sure that won’t be difficult!”
Scott Rawlings said: “I’m very happy to return to Fylde, I enjoyed my time there before and I’m sure I will again. Spraggy has told me of the Club’s ambition and I’m excited to hopefully be part of it.”
