Volunteering is at the heart of community clubs like Fylde. This famous club wouldn’t be approaching its Centenary without the incredible work of thousands of volunteers since 1919 carrying out a wide range of jobs. In the very spirit of this dedication, we pay tribute to Brian Barnard who has just retired after 40 years of service.
Well known to all frequent spectators at the Woodlands, Brian has worked for the Gates Committee for many years, taken admission money on match days and has also served on the General Committee. In a tribute to Brian at the pre-match lunch ahead of the recent game against Sheffield Tigers, Chairman Dave Young thanked Brian for his dedication and love of the Club, and presented him with a gift to mark these 40 years. Have a long and happy retirement Brian and keep coming to the Woodlands to see your many friends!
