Lancs U’20s reach County Championship Shield semi-final

It’s more South East opposition in the Jason Leonard U’20s Shield semi-final when Lancashire U’20s welcome Bedfordshire to Wigan RUFC on Sunday, 15th April

The Lancashire squad pulled out most if not all the stops when they beat Buckinghamshire 72-7 at Wigan on Sunday, scoring 11 tries in the process. Fylde players contributed three through Sam Fisher, Tom Carleton and James Torkington. ‘Hoppers Sam Stott and Sedgley’s Hallam Chapman both notched a brace, with others by Jack Dugdale (Wigan), Elliott Horner (Kirkby Lonsdale), Matt Gallagher (Sedgley Park) and Conor Cosh (Sale FC/MMU). Fylde’s Ben Gregory, Nick Ashcroft, Toby Harrison and Henry Pearson also featured in the squad.

In their two earlier Shield matches, they had beaten Northumberland by 53-11 and Staffordshire by 0-69. In total in these three games, the Red Rose squad have scored 30 tries and conceded 2.
