After their chastening home defeat by Chester last Saturday, Fylde Hawks have to pick themselves up and face the very tough challenge of Sedgley Tigers 2nds at Park Lane. Their squad includes a welcome return to action for lock Olli Parkinson who has worn a Fylde shirt for just 15 minutes since his summer move from Macclesfield. Olli damaged an ankle in a pre-season game, ironically on this ground, on 19th August, six weeks ago.
There’s a new half-back pairing, with former 1st team scrum-half Jon Green linking up with the equally experienced Danny Carlton who was one of the replacements for the 1st team at Plymouth a week ago. Alongside him at Albion on the bench was utility back Jake Foster who is named at outside centre at Sedgley.
15 Matthew Bargh; 14 Christian Williams, 13 Jake Foster, 12 Daniel Jones, 11 Sam Fisher; 10 Danny Carlton, 9 Jon Green; 1 Tom Fox, 2 Andy Stevens, 3 Alex Preston, 4 Karl Capstick, 5 Olly Parkinson, 6 James Torkington, 7 Tom Steer, 8 Gregor Aitken.
16 Conner Scrivens, 17 Will Atkinson, 18 Mark Capstick.
The Saracens, at 3rd in their league the highest placed of the Club’s four senior teams, travel to Liverpool University Vets who are in 13th place having played a game less to date.
Fylde Vandals also face a difficult fixture when they welcome old friends and rivals, Orrell 2nds, to the Woodlands (ko 3pm).
