Lancashire’s senior squad start their 2018 defence of the County Championship Bill Beaumont Cup when they travel to Percy Park RUFC to take on Northumberland on Saturday, 5th May. They then have successive home games to play for another Twickenham Final appearance – 12th May v Eastern Counties at Sedgely Park and finally v Cheshire at the Woodlands on 19th May.

Lancashire hold the Cup following their excellent 19-8 victory over Cornwall last May. They will hope to reach their ninth final in the last ten years.

They have named an extended squad of 44 players selected from eight clubs for this campaign. There are likely to be selection complications caused by the scheduling of the National Two play-off match on the 5th May. This is likely to involve, depending on the final few league fixtures, either Sale FC or, more likely, Sedgley Tigers. Lancashire U’20s appearance in the County Championship U’20s Shield Final may also affect the senior squad.
