[Two seasons ago we had no Oliver Parkinsons. Then two come along together …]

The Hawks are delighted to announce that Olly Parkinson will be joining the club for the 2018-19 season. Olly has just completed his studies at Myerscough College and will be starting a degree course, locally in September. Olly has played AASE rugby for two years whilst at Myerscough and has been one of the standout forwards in his time with Myerscough Rugby Academy. Olly has featured for Myerscough primarily in the back row although he spent some time in the second row.

On joining the club, Olly said “I am delighted to be joining after two years on the AASE rugby programme at Myerscough college. I am looking forward to developing my rugby further with Fylde and hopefully helping them achieve success in the future.”

Hawks Head Coach Dan Orwin said “Olly has lots of potential and at 6’4″ and 125 kg, he is a big boy. We see Olly developing as a prop forward and Olly has expressed that this where he sees himself playing in the future. Olly has a great personality and is exactly the type of talented young player we want to attract. Olly has a big rugby future ahead of him.”

The difference between ‘i’ and ‘y’. Newcomer Olly Parkinson joins his namesake Olli Parkinson in the Fylde 1st XV/Hawks squad. Olli Parkinson joined Fylde from Macclesfield a year ago and became a first choice lock forward last season after recovering from an ankle injury in the pre-season game at Sedgley Park. He made 22 National One appearances for the Club.

Preseason training starts on Tuesday 3rd July for the senior squads. 19.00 at the club.
