Fylde welcome Sandbach RUFC to the Woodlands tomorrow, Saturday, 17th August, for a pre-season game (ko 15.30).
Sandbach compete in the Midlands Premier Division (level 5, one below Fylde) where they finished 9th last season. They have a powerful coaching line-up including Sale Sharks Premiership (& England) hooker Rob Webber, Andrew Bird, and recent recruit Matt Bebbington who switches from Head Coach at Sedgley Park to the Cheshire club.
They have recruited energetically in the close season. Newcomers include: full back or fly-half Grant Hallam (formerly with Newport Salop & Longton), centre Will Sant (ex-Stoke), hooker Sam Bunce (ex-Pocklington & Yorkshire age grade teams); backrow Mark Wright (formerly from Dungannon in Ireland; prop Ben Torsk (Whitchurch), backrow Dan Collins – (Northwich) & prop Alex Griffiths Jones (formerly captain of Nottingham University and Stonyhurst).
Returning players include giant 2nd Row Joe Hickey, former 1st XV hooker Zac Jones and Tom MacCuish, a former Sale Sharks Academy player.

One of the home squad who will know the visitors very well is scrum-half Cameron Crampton who was a Sandbach 1st team player before moving to the Woodlands a year ago. [See photo above]
