Vixens welcome touring sides to the Woodlands on Saturday
Â
Beccehamian Ladies (Kent) and Eccleshall Ladies (Staffordshire) will be joining the Vixens on Saturday 27th February. After being advised of their touring dates and rather than letting one of the teams down, Fylde have kindly organised a one-off festival.
Â
This is a great opportunity to showcase the women's game and the Vixens look forward to giving both teams a warm welcome to the Fylde coast.
Â
Beccehamian Ladies play in National Challenge Division 3 SE-E and so far this season have won 3 out of 8 games played (two of the loses however were against touring sides). Something the Beccehaminan ladies have in common with the Vixens is that they too were beaten by touring side Romford Ravens. So no doubt there will be some swapping of stories after the tournament. Established 8 years ago means this team have more league experience than the Vixens.
Â
Eccleshall Ladies are currently placed 3rd in the National Challenge Midlands 1 league. At this point in the season the Eccleshall Ladies have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 2, meaning that out of the teams playing on Saturday, Eccleshall Ladies are the highest in terms of where the teams sit in the league structure. So this will be even more of a challenge for the Vixens but less so than when they played Championship level team Romford.
So three teams from three different levels of women's rugby. This should prove to be an interesting day at Woodlands!
Â
The Vixens hope to see as many supporters as possible, not only for them but also in support of the fastest growing sport for women.
