The University of Central Lancashire has a particularly close relationship with Fylde RFC. This includes the provision of coaching support and facilities by the Club to the UCLAN Men's and Women's team and the University's Sports Scientists assistance to the Club in terms of physical conditioning and video analysis.

In the 2008/9 season, Fylde's 1st team squad members Neil Hunter & Mark Edwards will, under the direction of Community Coach Alan Holmes, be coaching the UCLAN Men's & Women's teams.

Many UCLAN students play for one or more of Fylde's senior teams - they are made very welcome at the Woodlands.
