LSA High School 1sts & 2nds beat Rossall
Lytham St Annes High School 1st & 2nd teams beat local rivals Rossall at the Woodlands yesterday.
The scores were: LSA 1sts 33 - Rossall 3 and LSA 2nds 53 - Rossall 7.
Â
LSA High School 2nds started strong with a quick tempo game, working the offloads and getting in behind the Rossall defence. Rossall came back in to the game with some powerful running from the hooker and monster tackling from number 7 and captain Scott. Lytham gave away a penalty in their 22 which Rossall capitalised on crossing the line making the half time score 27 - 7.
In the second half Lytham dominated from the start, but some dogged defending by Rossall forwards kept Lytham from crossing the white wash. Lytham eventually broke the defence, running in some well worked tried using Jack Todd's rangy boot and well organised kick chase. Rossall never gave up working hard and applying pressure to Lytham right up to the final whistle.
Stand out players for the LSA 2nds were Joe McKillion and Charlie Cooke in the back row and Neil Williams at inside centre.
