QUARTER FINAL OF THE LANCASHIRE CUP

Won:    33-10

In a difficult fixture on a cold icy winter’s day, away to Liverpool College, KGS extended their winning run. As an initial obstacle Captain Ryan Wilkinson was out with a shoulder injury but fortunately the team were to rally around and secure a fine win. Liverpool put the team under a little pressure in the first five minutes with an early try.   Once the players finally got the coach journey out of their system they started to dictate and control the game. The forwards very much played their part in this tense and combative affair.  However, Marcus Mollinga, Sam Gale and Robbie Lockhart in the back row worked hard to win the ball and provide a much needed supply line to the backs.  Matthew Beaty had an exceptional game in defence presenting a solid wall of defence to the Liverpool centres.  Ben Rhodes-Powers was the man of the match with four outstanding tries and running some superb angles.  This was very much a team performance.
