Mini-Junior training: a statement from the DoR

There have been numerous requests made through Roger Grocott regarding midweek training for Mini-Junior teams at the Club.

I think it is important to restate Club Policy regarding training and playing for young people.

Working within national principles, particularly long term athlete development policy, we operate the following protocol:

All age group squads U'12s down may only train on Sundays.

U'13s and above may train one midweek session for a specific purpose rather than general training, as long as the pitches are available and the young people have not already played or trained at school that day. If there is a situation where some children have played or trained and some haven’t, then any training must be restricted to light organisational or skill work and MUST NOT involve CONTACT.

As a member of the RFU we are bound to follow the regulations laid out in their Rugby Continuum.
