Fylde entertain Burnage at the Woodlands in the 1st round of the Lancashire Cup on Saturday, 25th August. The visitors are based in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, and compete in National Three (North), two levels below Fylde.

Burnage have a very good set-up at their ground including a full-size 3G artificial pitch which is one of the few in NW England. They finished 9th in the division last season, ahead of clubs such as Waterloo and Penrith. In a move which underlines their ambitions, they have made a major step in recruiting well known fly-half Ross Winney from neighbours Macclesfield.
