RK is new backs coach!
Fylde Head Coach Mark Nelson has announced that Richard Kenyon has been appointed as Backs Coach for the 2012-13 season. "I'm delighted that Richard has agreed to take on this role. He'll continue to be an important member of the 1st team playing squad as well as leading on the backs coaching.
"I've always had a great respect for Richard as a very talented player and a great servant to Fylde. He'll bring his many years of national league experience and flair to the job. I see him making the kind of contribution as Josh Baxendale at Sale Sharks. He'll join me, Brian Gornall, forwards coach Paul Arnold & new 2nd team coach Adam Jackson.
Richard Kenyon said: "Nellie has been great in all fairness. We spoke about how my playing days were gradually coming to an end and that he was keen to keep me on board in some capacity.
"We share a similar philosophy on how the game should be played and I’m looking forward to helping this exciting squad maximise its potential. "It’s key to continue developing the Fylde brand of rugby that entertains and is enjoyable to play in. This will bring success along the way. "For me I still want to play as much as I can so the challenge is to get the best out of the players and out of myself at the same time. "It’s a role Nellie’s going to let me ease into to achieve the correct balance. I have always wanted to stay at Fylde Rugby Club so the decision was easy”
