Fylde's senior teams this Saturday: Wanderers name line-up

Fylde Wanderers were frustrated by the postponement of their first Bateman BMW Premiership fixture of the season at Kendal last Saturday. Now they turn their collective attention to their most difficult game of the season when they face champions Sedgley Park 2nds at the Woodlands on Saturday (ko 15.00). The National One club had the benefit of match action last Saturday when in defence of their title they visited Stockport and won by 43-17.

The Wanderers field a strong pack and a highly promising backline.

15 Jack Ward; 14 Matt Hughes, 13 Matt Gargett, 12 Ben Hall, 11 Rob Whittam; 10 Jon Embelton, 9 Mark Norris; 1 Jonny Wilde, 2 Nick Campbell, 3 Martin Macareavey, 4 Ali Atkinson(c), 5 Grant Ferguson, 6 Richard de Carpentier, 7 Mark Stephenson, 8 Mark Briggs. Replacements: Dave Rees, Greg Johnson, David Reed.

Fylde Saracens had a narrow win over Widnes at the Woodlands last Saturday and they now go on the road looking to extend their long unbeaten run when they visit near neighbours Thornton Cleveleys to take on their 1st team in Miller Homes 2. Thornton 1sts have only just joined the Miller Homes league after resigning from the RFU's North Lancs One division. Their match was postponed last Saturday.

Fylde Vikings travel to Eccles 2nds to open their 2008/9 season following their postponement last weekend. This will be a tough baptism for the Vikings who step up a division this season in Miller Homes 3 (North).

-----------------------

Fylde Vandals have their second home game when they welcome Aspull 1sts to the Woodlands. The Vandals will be in a confident frame of mind following their excellent win over Kirkby Lonsdale 2nds last Saturday. Eccles have yet to take the Miller Homes 4 (North) stage.
